Our Master of Laws (LL.M.) Programs provide opportunities for advanced study, individual research, and specialization in the following areas:

International Law: This program provides students with the background necessary to understand and manage problems arising in today's international legal order. Within this LL.M, the School offers four specializations:

• U.S. and Transnational Law for Foreign Lawyers
• International Arbitration
• General International Law
• Inter-American Law

Tax Law: This top-ranked program allows students to pursue a full range of tax specialties and offers a solid foundation in the core subjects of taxation.

Real Property Development (Real Estate): The Robert Traurig-Greenberg Traurig LL.M. in Real Property Development, available on campus or online, is for lawyers dedicated to working in the real estate field as attorneys or entrepreneurs. The program is designed both for recent law school graduates and for practitioners interested in redirecting or fine-tuning their practice.

Estate Planning: The unique Heckerling Graduate Program in Estate Planning is the only full-time law school graduate program leading to a master's degree in estate planning. The program includes a comprehensive coverage of estate planning topics not available elsewhere.

Ocean and Coastal Law: This program prepares lawyers as specialists in the domestic and international legal problems associated with the use and protection of the marine environment.

Miami Law's post graduate LL.M. programs provide opportunities for lawyers to gain advanced training. Our programs enable attorneys to hone their skills in a practice area or to redirect their careers and seek a new career path through targeted study. Our LL.M. programs are ideal for recent J.D. graduates seeking to specialize in a particular area of the law or for lawyers who have been out of practice for a period of time and are seeking to re-enter the profession.

The number of credits and years required to earn a graduate degree depend upon the particular course of study. With the approval of the director of the selected graduate program, a student may transfer credits for graduate-level work from another accredited law school if the work was completed within four years prior to transfer (two years in the case of the LL.M. in taxation) and the student successfully completes one semester of graduate study at this Law School.
