The Everglades Reports summarize available data and findings from research and monitoring of the Everglades Protection Area, and will be used by the South Florida Water Management District and Florida Department of Environmental Protection for making decisions affecting implementation of the Everglades Construction Project and related activities.
The Reports have been produced pursuant to the Everglades Forever Act (EFA) (Section 373.4592(4)(d) Florida Statutes), which requires the District to submit a report to state officials after conducting a scientific peer review. Information from the Everglades Reports will be updated annually beginning in January 1, 2000 in peer-reviewed reports also required under the EFA. These reports represent an important step in the process of reviewing technical information on the Everglades Protection Area and communicating progress on Everglades research and monitoring
