Sen. Graham, Reps. Shaw, Deutsch, Hobson, Diaz-Balart and Government Agency Leaders to Speak at Annual Everglades Coalition Conference

The 41-member Everglades Coalition will hold its 19th Annual Conference January 21 to 25, 2004, in Miami Beach, Florida. Hosted by the National Parks Conservation Association, the conference this year will address challenges and solutions for the restoration of the Florida Everglades, as well as other key restoration projects worldwide.

Speakers include U.S. Sen. Bob Graham (D-FL), Chief of the Army Corps of Engineers Lt. Gen. Robert B. Flowers, U.S. Reps. Mario Diaz-Balart, E. Clay Shaw, Jr., senior member of the Florida Delegation, Peter Deutsch, representing Pembroke Pines, and David Hobson, Chairman of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Energy and Water Development.

The conference sessions begin on Thursday, January 22, with an International Ecosystem Restoration Forum that will address several prominent restoration projects worldwide: Mesopotamian marshes in Iraq, the Pantanal in South America, and the Great Lakes.
