"It is a very sad day.  We lost a great friend and distinguished alumnus in a tragic automobile       accident last Monday. The alumni of the  University of Miami school of Law are a family and Henry "Lat" Latimer was a valued and respected member of our family.  He was a leader in everything he did.  He worked tirelessly for his profession and for his Alma Mater, and was never too busy to lend his support and energy to the University of Miami School of Law. He left an indelible mark, not only on those of us who knew him and worked with him, but all of us in the legal community.  His loss leaves a tremendous void for many, but he left us a legacy
that is to be admired and respected by everyone"
