MOTION FOR ADMISSION PRO HAC
VICE TO REPRESENT PLAINTIFF

               The undersigned, Sonia Escobio O'Donnell, on behalf of the MICCOSUKEE TRIBE OF INDIANS OF FLORIDA, by this motion requests admission Pro Hac Vice to appear as attorney for Plaintiff, and to participate in the above styled case, and as grounds therefore states:

            1.         The undersigned resigned from the United States Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Florida about eight months ago. Assistant U.S. Attorneys are automatically admitted to the Southern District bar. Shortly after leaving the U.S. Attorney's Office, the undersigned applied to take the test for admission to the district court bar but all testing was postponed until revisions to the Local Rules for the Southern District of Florida were completed (see attached). The revisions to the local Rules were completed and the undersigned was unable


 

to take the first test. The undersigned is now scheduled to take the test on June 16, 1995.

        2.     Rule 4 of the Special Rules Governing the Admission and Practice of Attorneys to the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida sets forth the circumstances under which an attorney may appear before this Court. Subsection (F) of the rule provides for a special or limited appearance by an attorney on a particular matter, upon written application.

    3.         The undersigned is practicing in a local firm, Lehtinen, O'Donnell, Malman, Cortiiias, Vargas and Reiner, P.A., which maintains an office in this district, at 7700 North Kendall Drive, Miami, Florida 33156.

    4.         The undersigned is a member in good standing of the Florida Bar, the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court.

    5.         The undersigned has practiced in the District Court for the Southern District of Florida, as an Assistant U.S. Attorney, for fifteen (15) years.

    6.          The undersigned intends to take the test for admission as scheduled, on June 16, 1995.

    7.         In accordance with Rule 7.1 of the General Rules of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida, attached hereto is a proposed Order.


 

8. WHEREFORE, on behalf of Plaintiffs, the MICCOSUKEE TRIBE OF INDIANS OF FLORIDA, the undersigned respectfully requests admission pro hac vice to appear in the above-styled matter.
