Here you will find information on using the School of Law's computer facilities. The following information is essential for access to the School of Law Network. We are currently updating the Computer Information for the new school year. New documentation will be posted here as it becomes available.

Service Desk

The Information Technology Service Desk, located in Room C-118 in the Law Library, provides computing assistance to members of the Law School community. The staff can also be reached by calling 305-284-3000 or by e-mailing help@law.miami.edu.

The Service Desk hours are:

Monday - Friday
Saturday
Sunday

8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
10 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
12 p.m. - 8 p.m.

The following systems are supported:

  • Microsoft Windows 8 (excluding Surface Pro)
  • Windows 8.1
  • Microsoft Windows 7
  • Microsoft Windows Vista
  • Apple OS X 10.8 "Mountain Lion" (current)
  • Apple OS X 10.9 Mavericks

The following systems are not supported:

  • Microsoft Windows XP and earlier
  • Apple Macintosh OS X 10.4 Tiger and earlier
  • Apple Macintosh OS X 10.5 Leopard on a non-Intel machine
  • Apple OS X 10.5 "Leopard" (Intel only)
  • Linux
  • Chromebooks
  • Microsoft Surface (incl. Pro)
  • Virtual operating systems (VMs)
  • Apple iDevices (iPad, iPhone, etc.)
