Ukrainian Student Kristina Klykova To Make Leap from Graduate to International Visiting Assistant Professor

The International Graduate Law Programs' 2013 Visiting Assistant Professor will be Kristina Klykova, a Ukrainian student at Miami Law who is about to receive her Master of Laws degree in International Law with a specialization in international arbitration. She is a 2010 graduate of Odessa National Academy of Law in Ukraine.

International Arbitration in Latin America: Recent Developments Discussed by Professor Andrés Jana, Chilean Attorney

When delving into the world of international arbitration in Latin America, it is worth setting aside the common stereotype of the region as a single monolithic place, rather than a confluence of many countries with "significant differences" between them, Professor Andrés Jana, a litigation and arbitration attorney from Chile, told Miami Law students in a recent address.

Professor Bernard Oxman Named as Member of the U.S. Department of State's Advisory Committee on International Law

Professor Bernard H. Oxman, the Richard A. Hausler Professor of Law, has been named a member of the United States Department of State's Advisory Committee on International Law. The Committee is comprised of all former Legal Advisers of the Department of State and up to 28 individuals appointed by the Legal Adviser. Pursuant to its Charter, the Committee will provide "the views and advice of a cross section of the country's outstanding members of the legal profession on significant issues of international law." Professor Oxman directs the law school's graduate program in Ocean and Coastal Law and specializes in international law and the law of the sea. He is one of the few Americans elected to the renowned Institut de Droit international and is the only American to have served as judge ad hoc on both the International Court of Justice and the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea. He recently completed ten years of service as Co-Editor in Chief of the American Journal of International Law.

Short Course In International Arbitration Broadens Horizons For Brazilian Visitors

The Office of International Graduate Law Programs at Miami Law welcomed Brazilian lawyers and law students from one of the most prestigious universities in Brazil, Pontifícia Universidade Catõlica de São Paulo, for the year's first intensive short course on international arbitration.
