Whole Foods Market of Coral Gables welcomed the HOPE Public Interest Resource Center as community partner for ‘Shopping for a Cause’ on March 9th. Proceeds from the day’s sales benefit the HOPE Fellows program, which supports students in unique public interest placements locally, nationally and worldwide. Last year’s Fellows worked across the globe to promote access to justice in placements at public interest agencies, NGOs and governmental agencies. Through outreach, emails and word-of-mouth, the volunteer team from HOPE encouraged friends, family and colleagues to come out and shop in support of the HOPE Fellows Program – and shop they did! The event raised almost $5,000 and is one of several programs designed to enhance opportunities for students with a passion for public interest work.
