Miriam Bamberger Awarded a HOPE Fellowship to Assist Victims of Domestic Violence
When Miriam Bamberger heads to work at the Florida Immigrant Advocacy Center, she does so with a determination to support women who are the victims of domestic violence. By helping immigrant women who are experiencing abuse, Bamberger has found a way to draw on her background as a hospital advocate and hotline operator for the Rape Crisis Center of Washington, DC. As a HOPE Fellow with FIAC, Bamberger will have the opportunity to provide guidance and support to immigrant women in abusive relationships who want to self-petition for citizenship under the Violence Against Women Act. Bamberger is also a Miami Scholar, a HOPE Books and Buddies Volunteer and the Treasurer of the Family Law Society.
