2007 HOPE Day of Service
Over 200 incoming students and faculty started off the year with service through HOPE DAY, coordinated by HOPE Public Interest Resource Center at the University of Miami School of Law. Participants were divided into teams and volunteered at various locations across Miami-Dade County spreading good will and providing hands-on assistance. Participants spent the morning at Good HOPE Equestrian Center, where they worked with children with developmental disabilities, Community Partnership for the Homeless, where they had a day of sports and play with children, Ronald McDonald House, where they prepared and served brunch to families staying at Ronald McDonald House, Humane Society of Greater Miami, where they played with and fed the animals at the shelter, Camillus House, where they prepared and served a meal, Barnacle Historic State Park where the volunteers did an environmental clean-up and Crandon Park for a beach clean-up.
