2008 Miami Scholars Reunion Dinner to Honor Prof. Lonny Rose

Students and alumni from the Miami Scholars Program gathered on Saturday, April 12th to celebrate the close of an exciting year and to honor Prof. Lonny Rose’s dedication and leadership to the Miami Scholars Program. Prof. Rose was the author of the proposal for the Miami Scholars Program in 1997 and has mentored 77 Miami Scholars through the program since 1998. “ Lonny has dedicated himself to the University of Miami School of Law, but most of all he has given of himself to his students. His mentorship has meant the world to hundreds of students through Litigation Skills and the Miami Scholars Program”, said Marni Lennon, Assistant Dean for Public Interest and Pro Bono. Current and former students gathered for a dinner in the Faculty Lounge and toasted Prof. Rose’s service. “It was a bittersweet evening, “ said Lennon. “It was wonderful to honor his contributions, compassion and mentorship, but he will be missed tremendously.”
