How to Sign up for Habitat for Humanity

Intro
Habitat for Humanity has upgraded its website to help streamline volunteers and groups get organized and effectively learn safety at the build site. Follow the directions below so that you can register for the appropriate date. each volunteer will have to register online at the Miami Habitat for Humanity website.

How to Register and Sign up for a Specific Build Date

Go to http://www.miamihabitat.org
On the right side of the screen, click on “Volunteers”.
On the “Volunteers” page, click on “online orientation” under the title “volunteers”.
On the “Online Orientation” page, click on “click here to begin” at the bottom of the page.
On this page, watch the 10 minute video to see what Habitat for Humanity is all about. Then, click “Next Step”.
On this page, read about important information about your work day on the construction site. Then, click “Next”.
On this page, watch a 7:48 minute video about construction site safety. Then, click “Next”.
This page displays that you have finished the online orientation. Then, click on “Volunteer Now” under the “Individual” heading.
If you have not registered for Habitat for Humanity on the internet before, follow part A.
On this page, at the bottom of the screen, click the “Register” button under “Not Registered Yet”.
Type in a username and a password, then click “Next”.
Enter the Join code: LAW, then click “Next”.
NOTE: This will only link your account to UM Law; however, this does not completely register you for a specific event. DO NOT STOP WITH THIS STEP if you are signing up for a specific event.
If you do not put in the join code or put it in improperly, you will not be able to sign up for the specific event.
This page will display all the possible dates that Habitat for Humanity is offering, This page is organized by dates. Scroll down to the date that your Project Leader said UM Law will be attending.
Go to the date and find “UM Law Build”. The, click on “Sign Up” to the left of “UM Law Build”.
The Project Leader has estimated a number of students to attend this event and Habitat for Humanity only lists that amount of people to sign up. If there are more people than the estimate, those people may not be able to sign up. Send an email to your Project Leader (jrsmolarz@gmail.com) so I can contact the Habitat for Humanity Volunteer Coordinator to expand our sign up numbers.
Click on “My Events” to see the construction address (with a Yahoo map), the date that you are signed up to help HOPE help Habitat for Humanity, and the types of jobs needed at that construction site.
