1L Orientation
Incoming students had the opportunity to hear it from the experts at the Public Interest/Public Service Panel discussions as part of 1L Orientation. The underlying theme in all of the remarks by alumni and upper-division students was the importance of taking advantage of the opportunities for civic engagement and pro bono advocacy throughout law school. Students who had participated with the HOPE Public Interest Resource Center, the Center for Ethics and Public Service, the Litigation Skills Program and those who have had judicial internships touted the value of getting involved as a means to not only help others, but to hone lawyering skills. Students interested in more information about the opportunities to engage in public interest/public service work will have an opportunity to meet project leaders and chat with the HOPE Team at the Information Meeting on August 27th in room 209.
