After completing his first year of law school, Miami Scholar Mason Kerns will be working for the ACLU of Florida’s GLBT Advocacy Project. Among other responsibilities, Mason will focus his efforts on drafting discovery documents and conducting research for cases involving harassment of gay/lesbian groups in rural Florida public schools, gay adoption rights (including a current appeal), and the discriminatory searches, seizures, and harassment of gay males in Miami Beach.
