2L Miami Scholar is looking forward to spending her summer with the Office of the Senate Legislative Counsel. As a legal intern, Shannon will assist the Staff Attorneys in the preparation of legislation, in all areas of Federal law, for consideration by the United States Senate. Among her many responsibilities, Shannon will assist with the drafting of bills, resolutions, conference reports, and amendments for Senators and committees and offices of the Senate. In addition, Shannon will analyze proposed legislation for legal sufficiency and constitutionality and research the law and its development in relation to a proposal being analyzed or drafted.
