
Annery Pulgar

Upon completing her first-year of law school, Miami Scholar Annery Pulgar looks forward to a summer internship in 2009 with the Miami-Dade County Attorney’s Office, which represents the county in all civil matters. Attorneys in the Office are involved in litigation, including state and federal trial and appellate work, in a number of substantive areas: constitutional law, federal civil rights, election law, environmental enforcement, zoning and land use planning, eminent domain, labor, consumer protection, municipal bond financing, utility regulation, torts, workers’ compensation, medical malpractice, hospital and health care, public housing, ad valorem taxation, contract negotiation, and competitive bidding.
As a summer clerk, Annery will accompany Assistant County Attorneys to depositions, court appearances, trials, oral arguments, mediations, arbitrations, personnel hearings, client meetings, Board of County Commissioners meetings, advisory board meetings, and quasi-judicial board hearings Annery, a recent initiate into Alpha Epsilon Lambda Graduate Honor Society, is excited to begin her work with the County. Upon her return to school in the Fall, Annery will continue to develop citizenship initiatives to ensure that community members have access to assistance to adjust their status. Annery explained that, “In partnership with the HOPE Public Interest Resource Center and the Public Interest Leadership Board, I look forward to joining forces of law students, medical students and graduate students to accomplish my outreach initiatives.”
