Liz Marquardt is the Chief Financial Officer of Ferrell Law.  She has more than 12 years of tax and corporate finance experience throughout the Americas. Her experience includes developing and managing tax departments, tax due diligence, transactional structuring, and tax-related process improvements.  She has served as interim CFO for the tax practice at Alvarez and Marsal, and was responsible for the creation and development of the tax department for Volvo’s commercial financing subsidiary.

Prior to attending law school and joining Ferrell Law, Ms. Marquardt was a tax consultant to Volvo Holdings North America, Inc.  Earlier, she served as Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Business Control for Volvo Treasury North America, LLC, and was the Tax Manager and Treasurer for Volvo Commercial Finance, LLC.  Before joining Volvo, Ms. Marquardt was a tax specialist with General Signal Corporation in Stamford, Connecticut, and with Tambrands, Inc. in White Plains, New York.  She began her career with KPMG in Stamford.

Ms. Marquardt earned a bachelor of arts, magna cum laude, from Gettysburg College, a master of accountancy from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, and a juris doctor from the University of Miami School of Law.  She is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a member of The Florida Bar.  Ms. Marquardt is an active member of the University of Miami School of Law’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program, and is a fellow at the Historical Museum of Southern Florida.

• Served as acting tax director for multi-national client going through bankruptcy restructuring
• Helped coordinate structure of a multi-billion dollar client carve out/IPO transaction
• While CFO for Volvo’s $4+ billion internal investment bank, was part of due diligence team for acquisition of Mack Trucks
• Helped lead team that closed Volvo’s first securitization transaction in North America
