About HOPE

Since 1998, HOPE (Helping Others Through Pro Bono Efforts) has been committed to providing information, guidance and training to law students dedicated to community service and advocacy. Begun with a single project, the HOPE Public Interest Resource Center at the University of Miami School of Law, has grown to include over 25 different projects each year, reaching various underserved and at-risk populations locally, nationally and abroad. HOPE partners with community agencies, law firms, bar associations, non-profits and non-government organizations to enhance the delivery of services to others.
With hundreds of volunteers, project leaders and a growing number of HOPE Fellows, we are constantly striving to provide access to justice and community support for those who are marginalized. HOPE also seeks to recognize our outstanding students, faculty and alumni by spotlighting some of our leaders in Public Interest Law. In addition to providing information and opportunities to volunteers at the University of Miami School of Law, the HOPE Public Interest Resource Center has compiled an up-to-date Community Resource Guide with information on the myriad of services and support available in Miami-Dade County.
By impressing upon students the importance of public service, we seek to promote pro bono advocacy and community service as an integral part of being a lawyer.Students are invited to sign up for projects throughout the year.
