The priority deadline for receipt of financial aid application materials is March 1. Loans will be processed after that date, on a first-come, first-serve basis.

 

The application materials required are:

 

  • The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA/Renewal FAFSA. Submit after January 1 to the Federal Student Aid Programs via www.fafsa.gov.

 

The following documents do not have a March 1 deadline. However, it is necessary to submit them in a timely manner for completion of your file. Your award letter will provide you the instructions to complete these processes online.

 

  • The Master Promissory Note (MPN) for Federal Stafford Loans (Subsidized and Unsubsidized) .
    • First-time borrowers at the University of Miami School of Law will need to provide the following information to facilitate processing of their Stafford Loans:
           1. Lender’s Name
           2. Lender’s Address
           3. Lender’s Telephone Number
           4. Lender’s ID Code

 

Note: Reapplication Required

 

Students must reapply for financial aid every year. If you submitted a prior year Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and received at least one valid Student Aid Report (SAR) you may complete a Renewal FAFSA. If you did not, you must complete the 2008-2009 FAFSA. Either one of these two forms will be available after January 1, and should be completed as soon as possible.
