Peter S. Britell, Adjunct Professor of Law, is a partner in Venable LLP. He has had broad experience in virtually every area of construction and real estate practice and has been lead counsel in many high-profile transactions and projects. He is listed under Real Estate in Best Lawyers in America, New York Super Lawyers and The New York Area's Best Lawyers and has a Martindale-Hubbell rating of "AV". He is the author of Green Buildings: Law, Contract, and Regulation (Law Journal Press, 650 pp. 2010, updated 2011 and 2012 and available through www.lawcatalog.com) and The Law of Green Buildings: Cases and Materials (available in paperback and e-book editions through www.Amazon.com). He was pro bono chair of Housing & Services, Inc. a New York not-for-profit corporation for a 13-year period during which they created more than $200 million in housing for the homeless and other lowest-income tenants. Mr. Britell is a magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Harvard College and a cum laude graduate of Harvard Law School and holds an L.L.M in Taxation from New York University Law School. He has written extensively on real property and construction law and since 2007 on green buildings law.
At Miami Law he teaches The Law of Green Buildings in the Graduate Program in Real Property Development.
