Marsha Elser obtained her J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law in 1975 and became a Board Certified Marital and Family lawyer certified by the Florida Bar Board of Legal Specialization in the first year that designation was available. Elser has lectured in the area of Family Law in Florida and elsewhere as well as publishing in the field. She was listed in the Best Lawyers in America, Naifeh & Smith, from 1995 until her retirement and has been recognized as a leading matrimonial lawyer by the South Florida Legal Guide and the Miami Metro Magazine
Elser has served as President of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, 1991 and 1992, has been Chairman of the Family Law Section of the Florida Bar, and has served on the Judicial Nominating Commission for the Eleventh Judicial Circuit in Dade County, Florida from 1990 to 1994. She was a founding fellow of the American College of Family Law Trial Attorneys.
Elser has received a number of awards in recognition of her accomplishments, including the Breaking the Glass Ceiling award, the Judge Learned Hand Human Relations Award as well as awards by the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and The Florida Bar.
At Miami Law she teaches Advanced Topics in Family Law.
