Marcos Beaton, Jr. is a partner at Black, Srebnick, Kornspan & Stumpf, P.A., the firm headed by Roy Black. Beaton has more than 14 years of trial experience and he has handled hundreds of criminal cases in Florida and throughout the United States. 

Prior to private practice, Beaton served as a public defender in Miami-Dade County, representing hundreds of indigent defendants. In 2011, Beaton joined his law partner Roy Black in teaching advanced criminal evidence at the University of Miami School of Law – a class that Mr. Black has taught for over 35 years.  

In 2012, Mr. Beaton was among a group of 40 attorneys under 40 years old, named a "Top 40 Under 40" Outstanding Lawyer, by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.  Mr. Beaton has also been recognized as a "Rising Star," by Florida Super Lawyers, a "Florida Legal Elite Up and Comer," by Florida Trend, and an "Up and Comer" by the South Florida Legal Guide. He holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Florida and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Miami.

At Miami Law Beaton teaches Criminal Evidence, a workshop that uses mock trials to teach tactics and strategies on the rules of evidence.
