Joseph Hernandez represents real estate developers in all phases of complex commercial real estate transactions. His experience includes the negotiation, documentation, and closing of the acquisition and sale, as well as the development and financing of commercial real estate. Hernandez represents both financial institutions and borrowers obtaining acquisition and construction financing, and has handled the resolution of complex title issues. In addition, he has significant experience documenting and negotiating real estate joint ventures and private placements to raise capital for real estate projects in the United States, Latin America, and the Caribbean. A former corporate and real estate banker, Hernandez represents U.S. and foreign institutional investors in the acquisition, development and financing of commercial real estate projects in the United States and abroad, including condominium projects, luxury residential, retail centers, and hotel projects. He also represents several major institutions extending financing for commercial real estate projects, as well as non-real estate related secured loan facilities. Hernandez teaches Land Security & Finance in the Graduate Program in Real Property Development.
