Jonathan D. Colan is an Assistant United States Attorney in the Appellate Division of the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Florida. Previously, he was an associate at Adorno & Zeder, P.A. in Miami and also served as a judicial intern for Magistrate Judge William C. Turnoff. Colan is a magna cum laude graduate of the University of Miami School of Law, where he served as Editor-in-Chief of the University of Miami Law Review. He also holds an A.B. in Politics from Princeton University. Mr. Colan teaches Issues in Appellate Law, a seminar that explores the standards of review and concepts of finality underlying appellate law and examine how these doctrines impact the practice of appellate law and the evolving role of appellate courts.
