John Halula is a Partner at the Miami office of Holland & Knight and chairs its Real Estate Practice Group. He has 20 years of experience in the areas of real estate and finance representing lenders, developers, purchasers and sellers of real estate. He has significant experience representing lenders in syndicated loans with A-B note structures and in mezzanine loans. Halula maintains an active practice in the areas of real estate, and institutional and consumer finance. In the real estate area, he represents clients in transactions involving sales, acquisitions, sale-leasebacks, ground leases, building and space leases, and like-kind exchanges of real property and related personal property. In the area of institutional finance, he represents various types of domestic and international lenders providing construction and permanent financing for multifamily residential, retail, office and industrial projects. In the area of consumer finance, Halula provides counseling in the Florida Consumer Protection Laws, Mortgage Brokerage Act, and the federal truth-in-lending laws to a variety of banks, mortgage lenders and credit companies. He is a Florida licensed certified public accountant.
At Miami Law Halula teaches a Real Estate Documents workshop in the Graduate Program in Real Property Development.
