Howard Shapiro has extensive expertise, nearly 40 years, in the real estate arena. He currently has his own firm, Howard Shapiro & Company, which provides consultancy services to the development industry. He has provided consulting on the built environment ranging from condominium conversions to luxury high-rise to "ground up" condominium hotel developments to property entitlement developments to mixed-use, to-be-built developments.

Due to his extensive expertise, Mr. Shapiro serves as the Developer in Residence for Miami Law's Robert Traurig-Greenberg Traurig LL.M. in Real Property Development. In this role he lectures and works with law students and faculty to assist them in understanding the client's point of view and the reality of the real estate development industry in order to complement the theoretical legal aspects learned by students through their law classes. Prior to running his own firm, he worked for over 26 years as a Director and the Senior Vice President of Pacific International Equities, Inc., which was the Miami Beach's largest, luxury, condominium, high-rise developer. Born and raised in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada, Mr. Shapiro is fluent in French.
