Susan Bennett, Lecturer in Law, received a B.S. from Cornell University in 1983, an M.A. from New York University in 1985, and a J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law in 1988, where she served as an Articles and Comments Editor on Law Review.
After law school, she practiced commercial litigation in Miami until 1990. She began teaching legal research and writing (LRW) in 1990 and has practiced law on a part-time or project basis since.
In 2002, she created and taught a seminar in sexuality and the law, still a present-day course offered at the law school. She became the Assistant Director of LRW in 2003, while remaining an LRW and seminar instructor.
At the close of the LRW program in May 2010, she became the Assistant Director of the James Weldon Johnson/Robert H. Waters Summer Institute, an honors program for entering law students. She has taught legal analysis and writing in this program since 2006, and continues to teach in the program presently.
