In three decades as a journalist, Nick Madigan has written for The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Baltimore Sun, Variety, The Palm Beach Post, The Christian Science Monitor and Condé Nast Traveler, among other publications.
Madigan covered news around the United States and in more than 20 other countries, including France, Morocco, the United Kingdom, Mexico, Haiti, Grenada and Cuba. He won awards for his work in Florida, California and the Caribbean, where he was a foreign correspondent for United Press International.
As a national correspondent for The New York Times, he covered the trial of Michael Jackson in Santa Maria, Calif.; the kidnapping of Elizabeth Smart in Salt Lake City; the William Kennedy Smith case in Palm Beach, Fla., and numerous other stories. Madigan is the former host of "Minding the Media" on KCRW, National Public Radio's largest affiliate in Southern California.
A native of New York City, Madigan was raised in San Sebastian, Spain, attended boarding schools in England and graduated from the University of Wisconsin at Madison with a Bachelor's degree in Journalism. He speaks Spanish fluently.
