Professor Fenton teaches courses in Family Law, Torts, Race and the Law, Constitutional Law, and seminars on Critical Race Feminism and Women and the Law Stories. Professor Fenton's research interests cover issues of structural equality and forms of subordination, including those of race, gender and class. She explores these issues in the greater context of violence and the attainment of justice. She regularly writes and speaks in these areas and related topics. She has served as an advocate for survivors of domestic abuse and continues to consult regarding these matters.

Professor Fenton received an A.B. from Princeton University and a J.D. from Harvard Law School where she served as editor-in-chief of the Harvard BlackLetter Journal. She practiced briefly in the New York firm of Cleary, Gottlieb, Steen & Hamilton before she clerked for the Honorable Edward R. Korman, United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York.
