Ricardo J. Bascuas, Professor of Law, received his B.S. from the University of Miami in 1993 and his J.D. from the Yale Law School in 1996. For the three years prior to his joining the School of Law faculty, Professor Bascuas was an Assistant Federal Public Defender in Miami, representing indigent defendants at both the trial and appellate levels. Professor Bascuas began his law career practicing civil and criminal law in Miami as an associate at Zuckerman Spaeder, LLP. After three years, he left the firm to clerk for United States District Judge Adalberto Jordan. Professor Bascuas teaches in the areas of evidence, procedure, and criminal law.
