Laurence M. Rose, Professor of Law and Director of the Litigation Skills Program, earned a B.A. from the State University of New York at Stony Brook in 1969 and a J.D. in 1972 from New York University School of Law, where he was business editor of the NYU Law Review. He served as law clerk to Chief Judge James S. Holden of the U.S. District Court for the District of Vermont in 1972-73, after which he entered private practice until 1976. From 1976 to 1990, Professor Rose served on the faculty of the University of Kansas School of Law. He is currently President/CEO of the National Institute for Trial Advocacy (NITA), after having served as NITA’s executive director from 1999-2006 and associate director from 1986-1992. From 1995-1998 he served as Vice Dean of the law school. Professor Rose teaches Litigation Skills I and II and clinical placement.
