Professor Kunal Parker Publishes Book Chapter

Professor Kunal Parker has recently published a new book chapter titled "Historicizing Blackstone's Commentaries on the Laws of England: Difference and Sameness in Historical Time." It will appear in Law Books in Action: Essays on the Anglo-American Legal Treatise. Professor Parker has written extensively in the areas of colonial Indian legal history, the history and theory of U.S. immigration and nationality law, the history of American legal thought and the philosophy of history. He has served on the editorial boards of various scholarly journals. His teaching areas and interests include American Legal History, Estates and Trusts, Immigration and Nationality Law, and Property.
Supervising Attorney of the Human Rights Clinic Publishes Article on Forced Sterilization of Women in Europe
Practitioner-in-Residence and Supervising Attorney of Miami Law's Human Rights Clinic, Christina Zampas, co-authored an article "Forced and Coerced Sterilization of Women in Europe" that was recently published in the International Journal of Gynecology & Obstetrics. Zampas advocates for women's rights in Eastern Europe. The full text can be read here. Zampas' scholarship and advocacy focus on international human rights law, particularly women's rights. Her main regional focus is Central and Eastern Europe and Sub-Saharan Africa, and her principal areas of interest include reproductive rights, the intersection of race and gender discrimination and access to justice. Zampas has litigated numerous cases before the European Court of Human Rights, the collective complaint mechanism of the European Social Charter and at the United Nations. She has engaged in other forms of legal advocacy at the national level and with regional and international human rights bodies. She has lectured widely and made presentations before policy and academic institutions across the globe.
Director of Miami Law's Externship Program Jennifer Zawid Hosts a Workshop on Improving Supervisory Skills
Jennifer Zawid, Director of Miami Law's Externship Program and Lecturer in Law, in collaboration with Liz Ryan Cole, Professor and Director of the Semester in Practice Program at Vermont Law School, hosted a workshop for supervising attorneys who have participated in Miami Law's various externship programs. The half-day workshop focused on "Effective Supervision and Feedback in Mentoring Relationships Involving Law Students and New Attorneys." A diverse group of some of Miami's most prominent attorneys were in attendance.
