Course Advising
Dear Students:
As the Law Registrar has announced, we expect to release the schedule for the Spring, 2010 semester this Thursday, October 29.
The registration schedule is as follows:
November 4 LLM and 3L Students Register
November 6 2L Students Register
November 9 1L Students Register for 1L Elective
We are fortunate that UM Law offers a broad array of courses. With all of these choices comes a big responsibility to study the schedule carefully and select wisely.
I want to preview some of the ways that you can get advice in course selection over the next 2 weeks:
Sunday evening, November 1, 7pm-9pm
Dean of Students Live Chat to Address Questions on the Schedule (link to chat)
Tuesday, November 3, 12:30 Student Lounge
Associate Dean Gudridge will provide an overview of highlights of the Course Schedule and Answer Questions, (Lunch Served)
Wednesday, November 4, 12:30 Student Lounge
Presentations on the Business and Financial Law Certificate Program; the Labor, Employment and Immigration Certificate Program; the 7 Semester JD-LLM Program in Taxation; and the 7 Semester JD-LLM Program in Real Property Development (Lunch Served)
Thursday, November 5, 12:30, Student Lounge
Presentations on International and Comparative Law Curriculum, including the International Law Certificate Program and 7 Semester JD-LLM Programs (Lunch Served)
In addition, Dean VanderWyden and I are available for individual course advising meetings. Because the week will be a busy one, we recommend that you schedule these meetings in advance at the front desk of the Dean of Students office. We will also announce later this week a schedule of faculty who will be available at the "AskUs" Tent on the Bricks for additional course advising.
