***NEW LOCATION*** SAME CAMPUS, BIGGER VENUE!
Due to overwhelming demand, this year's conference will take place at the Storer Auditorium at the University of Miami School of Business.
Now in its 23rd year, the Annual Bankruptcy Skills Workshop is pleased to present the latest developments and practices in the Local Rules and procedures of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Florida. This year's program will introduce you to the Loss Mitigation Mediation Program (LMM) which went into effect on March 1, 2013.
Judges from each division will join in a panel discussion which highlights their latest decisions, pointers and pet peeves. Separate panels featuring the Standing Chapter 13 Trustees, Chapter 7 Trustees and experienced local consumer bankruptcy attorneys will appear, and be available to answer your questions. The Clerk of Court and Staff Counsel from the Office of the United States Trustee will be included in the Program.
The Program will include a panel discussion consisting of staff counsel for the Florida Bar to provide pointers on how to avoid violations of Unlicensed Practice of Law and Cannon of Ethics for the Florida Bar.
This year's program provides a unique look into changes in local practice and navigating consumer bankruptcies.
