Assistant Dean’s Welcome
Welcome to the Career Development Office at the University of Miami School of Law. Our office serves as the career counseling and information center for law students and alumni. Our role is to assist students and alumni in planning their legal careers by utilizing the appropriate tools and resources at their disposal.
We provide information about law firms throughout the country, about the many areas of law practice and about employment opportunities in both the private and public sectors. We also give students many opportunities to meet with employers through job fairs and campus interviews.
Our mission is to provide the highest level of service to our students, alumni and potential employers with Dignity, Efficiency and Courtesy. The staff of the Center:
- Strives to maximize employment opportunities for students and alumni by strategically marketing the School of Law to employers and by identifying and promoting local and national placements.
- Provides effective counseling services to law students and alumni and maintains up-to-date, placement-related resources in legal and non-legal practice areas.
- Promotes to students and alumni the highest ethical and professional standards as established by the legal profession.
The objective of the Career Development Office is to assist students and alumni in attaining career satisfaction, and employers in attaining the right candidates for their organizations.
