The Career Development Office (CDO) is committed to providing support to the alumni of our J.D. and LL.M. programs. All of CDO's resources continue to be available for alumni after graduation.
Individual Counseling: Advisors meet with students and alumni to review résumés and cover letters, conduct mock interviews, and talk about career goals. If you don't have time to meet with an advisor, just drop off your résumé or cover letter with the CDO and come back in 24 hours to pick up an edited version.
Job Postings: The CDO maintains an online searchable database of current legal employment opportunities for students and alumni. The database is updated on an almost daily basis and is accessible 24 hours a day from any computer. In addition, hard copies of all job postings are made available during office hours. To create an account or retrieve your forgotten login information, please e-mail email@example.com with your name, graduation month/year, LL.M. program you completed (if applicable) and your preferred e-mail address. Please allow up to two business days for a response.
In addition, you are entitled to access to the Intercollegiate Job Bank. The Intercollegiate Job Bank is a consortium of member law schools around the country who share job postings for post-graduate positions. This is a useful tool if you are seeking a position elsewhere in the United States. A username and password is necessary to access the above link. If you would like to access the Intercollegiate Job Bank, please call the CDO at 305-284-2668 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org. Be sure to provide your name and year of graduation.
Job Search Publications: The CDO has a number of publications available to assist you with your job search, including an Alumni Guide geared specifically for the post-graduation job search, whether for your first job after graduation or your fourth.
Reciprocity: If you are searching for a job outside the South Florida area, we can make a written request on your behalf to obtain access to the career services of another law school. CDO Blog: The Career Development Office maintains a blog to inform students of job search tips, professional development advice, career opportunities and other important information. The blog will also contain, from time to time, information relevant to alumni such as useful resources, networking opportunities and on campus events. Please add the blog to your favorites, or subscribe to its posts, so that you may stay informed of all CDO happenings and events.

The Alumni E-Newsletter, a newsletter for alumni, students, and friends, supplements the Barrister. In addition to brief articles and information about activities and developments at the School of Law, each issue features a Career Development Office section titled "Career Corner" which contains articles, a job spotlight and other job search information.
