This year the University of Miami launched its second major fundraising campaign in ten years — Momentum2. The major goals of Momentum2 are to enrich the student experience, fund scholarships and research programs, and recruit more world-class faculty members and scholars. The campaign also will support programs that benefit the community, allowing the University to partner with organizations and enhance the well-being of citizens, be it in education, health care, or economic stability.

Judge A. Jay Cristol's Gift Supports Bankruptcy Clinic
When Judge Cristol — who graduated from the University of Miami School of Law in 1959 and is Chief Judge Emeritus of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Florida — dons his robes, his pencil-thin mustache fashioned like a film star's of yesteryear, it is a labor of love.

Judge Adalberto Jordan, JD '87, Confirmed To Appeals Court
U.S. District Judge Adalberto Jose Jordan, a Miami Law graduate, was confirmed by the U.S. Senate in February to serve on the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Atlanta.
Miami Law Alumna Confirmed by Senate to Federal Bench
Robin S. Rosenbaum, a Miami Law alumna and adjunct faculty member, was confirmed by the U.S. Senate Tuesday as a federal judge for the Southern District of Florida. The vote was 92 to 3.

Robert Peltz, JD '76, partner at Florida trial law firm Leesfield & Partners, P.A., has been reappointed as Chairman of the Maritime Law Association (MLA)'s Cruise Lines and Passenger Ships Committee. This is Peltz's third term as Chairman.
Stephen H. Reisman, JD '76 has been named Vice Chairman of Peckar & Abramson, in Coral Gables, FL. Peckar & Abramson consider it to be an important milestone in the firm's development as the nation's largest construction law firm.

Dr. Earl Cash, JD '78, Partner at Nassau, Bahamas based Higgs & Johnson, was appointed Deputy Chairman of The College of The Bahamas' Council.
CLASS OF 1981
Brian L. Davidoff, LLMI '81 and his practice group will join Greenberg Glusker, a full-service law firm in Los Angeles. Mr. Davidoff will head the Firm's Bankruptcy and Financial Restructuring Group.

Brett A. Panter, JD '84 from the Law Office of Panter, Panter & Sampedro in Miami, FL, served as a moderator for "As Judges See It: Top Mistakes Lawyers Make in Civil Litigation" for the National Business Institute.

Donald P. Dufresne, JD '86, shareholder at Greenspoon Marder, has been appointed by County Commissioner Jess Santamaria to the Palm Beach County Tourist Development Council.
Juan C. Enjamio, JD '86 has been appointed managing partner of Hunton & Williams' Miami office.
Mitchell Panter, JD '86 from th Law Office of Panter, Panter & Sampedro in Miami, FL, presented Basics of Auto Accident Law at a seminar sponsored by LawReviewCle Advocacy in Practice.

Melanie Damian, JD '96, a partner with the Miami based law firm of Damian & Valori LLP, was selected to receive the Miami Dade Florida Association of Women Lawyers' (FAWL) Mattie Belle Davis Award and has been appointed Chair of The Florida Bar Federal Court Practice Committee by incoming President of The Florida Bar, Gwynne A. Young.
