Recent Miami Law graduate Christina Guzman, JD '09, gives to the Dean's Circle annually.

"I give to the Dean's Circle because I believe its tiered giving requirements are accommodating for recent graduates who would like to begin a legacy of giving to their alma mater," explains Guzman. "I hope my contribution will be one of many gifts that allow the law school to continue to grow and to help its students and graduates succeed in an ever-changing legal climate."

Annual membership to the Dean's Circle is $100 each year for recent graduates (within the past four years), $500 for those who graduated in the past five to ten years, and also for members of the judiciary. Otherwise, annual membership starts with a contribution of $1,000. As a member of the Dean's Circle, alumni are invited to a variety of lunches, receptions, discounted CLEs and other events throughout the year.

Guzman, who is currently an associate at Cohen & Bobatas -- a commercial law firm that concentrates in banking, real estate and commercial finance litigation -- believes that attending events at Miami Law "is a wonderful way to solidify current bonds and to create new ones within Miami's legal community. I think it's a great opportunity for recent law school graduates to become involved in an organization that brings together alumni who are dedicated to supporting the law school."

Guzman has many fond memories of her time as a student a Miami Law, but her favorites are "serving as editor in chief of the Business Law Review and completing the Litigation Skills program because I enjoyed working closely with and learning from my classmates."
