Class of 1958

• The 11th Judicial Circuit of Florida's Historical Society announced that they will honor Judge A. Jay Cristol, JD '58, by presenting him with the Legal Legends Award at the annual awards dinner in November.

Class of 1961

• The 11th Judicial Circuit of Florida's Historical Society announced that they will honor Edward A. Moss, JD '61, by presenting him with the Legal Legends Award at the annual awards dinner in November.

Class of 1962

• Paul Siegel, JD '62, retired from the Circuit Court in Miami.

Class of 1965

• Judge Jose E. Martinez, JD '65, declared Florida's method of imposing the death penalty unconstitutional.

Class of 1973

• Paul Levine, a former trial lawyer and the award-winning author of legal thrillers, will discuss his new novel, Lassiter, at Books & Books Coral Gables on Tuesday, September 13th at 8pm.
• Stuart Z. Grossman, JD '73, named fellow of the American Bar Association.

Class of 1976

• Carl B. Schwait, JD '76, of Dell Graham PA, received the Presidential Award at the 2011 Annual Florida Bar Convention.
• The 11th Judicial Circuit of Florida's Historical Society announced that they will honor Frank Angones, JD '76, by presenting him with the Legal Legends Award at the annual awards dinner in Novemeber.
• Gregory M. Cesarano, JD '76, received the 2011 Henry King Stanford Alumnus of the Year Award from the Law Alumni Association.
• Robert Peltz, JD'76, re-appointed chairman of the Maritime Law Association.

Class of 1977

• Robert F. Tacher, JD '77, joined Peterson Bernard as a senior attorney in the Fort Lauderdale office.

Class of 1978

• The 2nd DCA of Florida cited adjunct faculty member and alumnus, Brian F. Spector's (JD '78) article on "Predispute Agreements to Arbitrate Legal Malpractice Claims" in a recent opinion.
• The 11th Judicial Circuit of Florida's Historical Society announced that they will honor Ellen Castman Freiden, JD '78, by presenting her with the Legal Legends Award at the annual awards dinner in November.

Class of 1979

• Douglas M. Halsey, JD '79, re-appointed to the Board of Directors of The Florida Bar Foundation.
• Patricia Redmond, JD '79 and Adjunct Faculty Member, was honored by Florida Trend Magazine as a Legal Elite. This is the magazine's 8th Annual Edition of the Legal Elite.

Class of 1984

• David R. Carlisle, JD '84, appointed co-chair of the newly formed Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee of The Florida Bar's Real Property, Probate, and Trust Law Section.

Class of 1985

• Caroline C. Emery, JD '85, received the 2011 Professionalism Award from the Jacksonville Bar Association.

Class of 1987

• Jorge Luis Lopez, JD '87, of the Jorge Luis Law Firm, appointed to the Board of Directors for the American Red Cross of Greater Miami and the Keys.
• David S. Weinstein, JD '87, joined Clarke Silvergate, P.A.

Class of 1988

• Gary S. Salzman, JD '88, of GrayRobinson, P.A, elected president of the George C. Young First Central Florida American Inns of Court.

Class of 1990

• Martin S. Simkovic, JD '90, joined the Miami-based law firm, Lyons & Lurvey as a shareholder.

Class of 1992

• Fleur Jeannine Lobree, JD '92, appointed by Gov. Rick Scott and sworn in as Miami-Dade County Judge.

Class of 1996

• Leyza F. Blanco, JD '96, of GrayRobinson , P.A., was recognized by Chambers USA in the magazines 2011 rankings. Ms. Blanco was recognized for notable achievements in the area of Bankruptcy and Restructuring.
• Elizabeth A. DeConti, JD '96, of GrayRobinson , P.A., was recognized by Chambers USA in the magazines 2011 rankings. Ms. DeConti was recognized for notable achievements in the area of Alcoholic Beverage Law.
• Marlene Quintana, JD '96, of GrayRobinson, P.A. named in the Top 50 Lawyers of 2011 by Super Lawyers and selected as Chair of the 11th Circuit Judicial Nominating Committee.

Class of 1997

• Olanike Adebayo, JD '97, was honored by the Black Women Lawyers Association as member of the year.
• Jeffrey C. Lynne, JD '97, joined Michael Weiner & Associates as a Partner.

Class of 1999

• Jaret L. Davis, JD '99, honored by M&A Advisor in their "40 under 40" Awards issue. Recipients will receive their awards at a Gala dinner in Los Angeles in late July.

Class of 2002

• Jodi N. Cohen, JD '02, hired as a senior associate in the Fort Lauderdale office of Haliczer Pettis & Schwamm

Class of 2003

• Myra Mahoney, JD '03, joined Polenberg Cooper as Of Counsel in the Fort Lauderdale office.

Class of 2005

• Robert Clayton (Clay) Roesch joined Shuffiled Lowman as a Litigation Attorney

Class of 2008

• Tamara Y. Toussaint, JD '08 appointed by President Obama as a member of the Presidential Commission on Presidential Scholars.
• Sarah B. Sindledecker, JD '08, joined Cantor & Webb as an associate.
