Visiting Students from Other Law Schools
Each year the University of Miami School of Law is pleased to admit a limited number of visiting students from other schools ("transient students") who have performed well at other law schools and who have the permission of their home schools to study at the University of Miami School of Law.
Transient students are expected to adhere to the requirements and standards of their home institutions and to the academic and other standards specified in the Student Handbook and Honor Code of the University of Miami School of Law.
Students requiring financial assistance should contact the financial aid office at their home schools and/or the Office of Financial Aid at the University of Miami School of Law for assistance and application materials. The Office of Financial Aid can be reached at the toll-free Financial Hotline number, (877) 828-8314.

Information about course selection and schedules is available on the UM Law website: http://www.law.miami.edu/registrar/.
Once a student is admitted, registration may be done online through the use of the MyUM system: https://caneid.miami.edu/cas/login?service=https://myum.miami.edu/idcheck.asp.
Simply follow the prompts for new users, select a PIN, and proceed to the registration link.
Students who have received special accommodations from their home schools relating to a documented disability should contact Iris Morera, coordinator of disability services, at (305) 284-9907 or at imorera@law.miami.edu.
All students must have health insurance and will be automatically billed for insurance each semester unless they complete a cancellation request that is available online. Complete information is available on the UM website at http://www6.miami.edu/student-health/.
Required immunization information is also available on the Student Health Center website, http://www6.miami.edu/student-health/.
Transient students are expected to return to their home schools. Exceptions can be made only in extraordinarily well merited cases where the student has performed well above average at UM Law, and where returning would involve a hardship. In addition, students seeking a change from transient to transfer status must meet the standards for transfer students contained in the Student Handbook and be admitted by the Admissions Committee.
