Application to the Juris Doctor Program
1) Applying Electronically (Preferred Method):
Miami’s electronic application is available as part of your LSDAS registration and is a very convenient way to apply. All applicants are required to register for LSDAS. This easy and efficient option allows you to work on and save your application until you are ready to submit it electronically. LSAC's secure technology ensures that your personal information remains encrypted as it is transported across the Internet and can be referred to at your convenience through your LSAC account.
Your application will be sent to the Committee as soon as all required documents have been received. If you wish to be considered for scholarships, completion of your file by January 4, 2010 is strongly advised. Applications received after February 1, 2010 will continue to be accepted and reviewed on a space available basis until July 31, 2010. As admission decisions and most scholarships are awarded on a rolling basis, it is in applicants’ best interest to complete their files before the end of the year.

2) Applying as a Transfer Student:
The University of Miami School of Law welcomes and encourages applications from students who have compiled strong records at other American Bar Association-approved law schools and wish to transfer. Transfer students can be reviewed and may be admitted on a conditional basis with strong mid-year grades and supporting documents (application, application fee, LSDAS report, law school transcripts and statement of good standing). Students who maintain or increase the mid-year performance, remain in good standing, and have no significant changes in the application that might affect their eligibility for consideration, will be granted full admission after final year end grades are received by the Office of Admission. All offers of admission are conditional based upon receipt of official final first-year law school transcripts.
