Miami Law students enjoy participating in the life of a great university. The University of Miami offers a range of excellent graduate schools and studying at one through a joint degree program allows J.D. students to expand their professional expertise, and save time and tuition money over earning degrees separately.

To Apply

Each joint degree program has its own application process. Please visit the program of interest to see requirements for admission. Also see What to keep in mind when considering a Joint Degree.

LL.M. - Master of Laws Degrees

These are degrees taken concurrently at the law school; usually students who participate in one of these programs and take the requisite number of credits during their J.D. studies can complete an LL.M. degree in only one additional semester.

Master's Degrees

Miami Law offers joint degrees in cooperation with many schools at University of Miami.

Doctoral Degrees

Some students choose to combine their law studies with a doctoral program at another graduate school. Miami Law offers the following specialized joint J.D./Ph.D. degrees:

Joint J.D./Bachelor Degree – B.A./J.D or B.S./J.D.

The University of Miami is one of the few major universities to offer an Honors Dual Degree Program for undergraduates in which high school students with high academic ability gain admission to both undergraduate study at UM and to graduate study at Miami Law. This “3+3” option allows UM undergraduates accepted into the Honors Program in Law to complete both degrees in six years.
