In reviewing your exams with your professors, try to identify your strengths and weaknesses in the following areas:

• Knowledge of substantive law
• Identification of issues on the exam (issue spotting)
• Organization of exam answer (IRAC)
• Complete analysis of issues (not "too conclusory")
• Writing

Note: Good legal writing is nothing more than well-written good legal analysis.

The Academic Achievement Program offers resources to assist you in developing competence in these areas. Students are encouraged to attend the weekly Academic Achievement Program Dean's Fellow 1L Study Groups, register for and attend the Exam Workshop series, and schedule individual meetings at the AAP Writing Center for follow-up feedback on written practice exams.
